Engineer Week Proclamations
National Engineers Week is a week-long celebration for engineering that started in 1951 by the National Society of Professional Engineers (NSPE). National Engineers Week is celebrated annually to coincide with George Washington's birthday (February 22nd) as he is considered the nation's first engineer, notably for his survey work. ASCE partners with DiscoverE (formerly the National Engineers Week Foundation) to shine a spotlight on engineering.
Engineers Week is a time to celebrate how engineers make a difference in our world, increase public dialogue about the need for engineers, and bring engineering to life for kids, educators, and parents.
We welcome professionals from all STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) related fields to come to our events and proclamations to help show support.
